Super Bowl player endorses Valley rapper’s tribute song

Rob Gronkowski, the star tight end for the New England Patriots, has a big game to prepare for. OK, he has the biggest game to prepare for — the Super Bowl.

But he took a break from football this week to listen to a Valley rapper’s song, and then Tweet his admiration for it. The rapper is Fewcha and the song is “I Get Hype.”

Gronkowski tweeted, “If you wanna get hyped, listen to my boy @fewcha956 #superbowlsong! Ahh!!” along with a link to the Youtube video.

STC hosts digital illustrations exhibit

Robert Gilbert’s digital illustrations exhibit “The Girl by the Sea: Enchanted Storytelling in the Digital Age” will open Thursday, Feb. 2, at South Texas College Technology Campus Library.

The exhibit also features Gilbert’s writing.

Fall Back Records closes shop to relocate

Vinyl collectors and music lovers will have to hold off on purchasing albums from Fall Back Records for about a week.

The record shop has closed its doors in preparation of a move from McAllen to, well, a little farther south McAllen.

The new location will open  Wednesday, Feb. 1, at its new address: 1516 Beech Avenue.
