National Dance Day

This event includes dancing video game demonstrations, a gift card raffle and a ton of dancing.
The 8th annual RGV Blues Fest is back at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Club at Cimarron in Mission.
Artists featured include Austin-based Lz Love, Texas Johnny Brown and John Cortez. Also performing are the Leigh Hollis Band and BC and Soul Express.
There will also be authentic Cajun cuisine, a silent and live auction and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Comfort House, a nonprofit care facility which serves those who are terminally ill.

Christian rockers Abandon are coming to the Valley on Sunday, July 31, for a show at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium.
The San Antonio-based group has won major acclaim among Christian rock fans. Their latest album is called “Control.” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9b2E30ADnQ) The band aims to entertain while also spreading the word of God.

Castro, who is occasionally known by the nickname El Gallito Feliz, which means the happy little rooster, is a Grammy Award-nominated musician.

The Tony Perez Band (http://thetonyperezband.com/), a local country group, will be playing a show to celebrate its new album Saturday, July 30, at the Outta Town Dance Hall in Mission.
