Easton Corbin reschedules show for December

Country singer Easton Corbin, who was scheduled to perform Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Pharr Events Center has rescheduled his concert to Thursday, Dec. 29.

According to concert promoters and Corbin’s record label, the singer has fallen ill and must take time to rest his body and his voice.

All tickets for the September date will be honored, and to purchase tickets for the upcoming show, visit the Pharr Events Center box office or www.ticketmaster.com.

Joan Sebastian to play at State Farm Arena

Mexican producer and singer/songwriter Joan Sebastian will play a show Saturday, Oct. 8, at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo.

Tickets for the show go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at all Ticketmaster outlets, State Farm Arena and www.ticketmaster.com. Prices start at $52.

In his 37-album career, Sebastian has won three Grammy awards, five Latin Grammys and many Latin Billboard awards. When he was 17, Sebastian enrolled in the seminary, where he quickly learned music was his true calling.

Years later, he has become one of Mexico’s most influential performers of all time.

A Monster Carwash Reality Show?

Producers of reality television programming are looking into creating a show based on the employees and customers of Monster Carwash Bar and Grill in Edinburg.

The buzz around the potential TV show is growing and filming for a video proposal will begin in the evening Thursday, Aug. 25, according to an employee.

Whether the show will focus on the day-to-day business at the car wash/restaurant/bar or the characters who work there or visit will be determined by what’s captured in the next few weeks there.

It’s the Valley’s chance to be thrust into a national spotlight – will you be there?

….actor Robert Beltran, who has recently appeared on HBO’s “Big Love” and also “Star Trek: Voyager.” Beltran will appear September 10 and 11 at the events held at Texas State Technical College in Harlingen.

Taking Back Sunday to play in Pharr

Taking Back Sunday, everyone’s favorite early 2000s quisi-emo rock band, will play a show Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Pharr Events Center.

The band, responsible for the hit single “Cut from the Team (Cute Without the E)”, will be joined by The Maine. Pre-sale tickets cost $22.50, and they are available at www.ticketmaster.com.

Apply for the Miss Edinburg 2012 Scholarship Pageant

Beauty pageant contestants can compete for the title of Miss Edinburg, which comes with scholarships, a crystal crown, roses and the opportunity to represent the city at various functions.

Applicants for Miss Edinburg should be between 18 and 22 years old. Miss Teen Edinburg should be between 14 and 17. Registration will continue through the middle of September.

Bush is coming to Pharr in October

Early ’90s alternative rock band Bush will be playing Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Pharr Events Center.

The group is best known for its hit album “Sixteen Stone,” which spawned alternative rock classics “Glycerine,” “Machinehead” and “Little Things.” The band will be touring in support of new album “The Sea of Memories,” which is scheduled to drop Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Tickets for the show, which will be $33, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com.

‘The Cloth’ movie auditions

Producers for “The Cloth,” an action/horror film that deals with secret demon fighting, will hold final auditions 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, and Sunday, Aug. 14, at the McAllen Library.

Never Shout Never returns for Pharr show in October

Are you ready to rock? Never Shout Never, with special guests A Rocket To The Moon, Fake Problems and Carter Hulsey will be hitting the stage Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Pharr Events Center as part of the Time Travel Tour. Never Shout Never will be touring in support of new album “Time Travel,” which is scheduled to drop Nov. 20.  It will be an all ages show so bring everyone.
