South Texas country fans know Pat Green well. He’s been making regular stops in the Valley to perform his good ‘ole boy Texan country music for years now.
Green will be back to play at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Pharr Events Center.
Though the singer-songwriter started with a decidedly Texas country sound, his music did go mainstream when he landed a record deal with Universal.
In 2011, Green announced he was done making music for the man and made a return to his Texas country roots and independent music.
The next album Green plans to release is a 10-track disc of covers, which is also a follow-up to the decade-old “Songs We Wish We’d Written.”
In part two, Green features songs from songwriters such as Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely and Ed Roland of Collective Soul.
Expect to hear Green’s take on a variety of songs from classic country like “If I Had a Boat,” by Lovett, and the ‘90s rock hit “The World I Know,” by Collective Soul.
